Ethically Sourced Gemstones
Taylor & Hart is committed to working exclusively with ethically sourced gemstones. We choose to work with international jewelry industry traders and cutters that reflect the same values and standards we share with the World Jewelry Confederation, also known as CIBJO.
CIBJO works closely with the United Nations to ensure our gemstones are ethically sourced. Furthermore, there is also a Certificate of Trade between our gemstone suppliers, the cutters and mines that is also authorized by the World Jewelry Confederation and guarantees the gemstones are ethically sourced. We remain committed to the CIBJO and UN’s social, environmental and economic development programs, which we believe are central to the jewelry industry’s growth.
Our gemstones are sourced from different parts of the world. Their sources are even more diverse than those of our diamonds and include regions such as Brazil, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Colombia, Tanzania, Vietnam and Mozambique. From these nations, they are exported and go through the CIBJO process
Most gemstones are polished with our suppliers in India, Thailand and Brazil and then imported into the United Kingdom and United States to be set into our rings and jewelry. To learn more about our process, visit our ethical engagement rings page.
