From the cut to the setting, picking your diamond is not just about the clarity but it’s the best place to start. When diamonds are formed deep in the earth, they develop natural birthmarks – slight irregularities and features that are visible to a skilled grader under 10x magnification. These are collectively known as “clarity characteristics.”
Depending on the size, quantity, placement, tone or color of these clarity characteristics, they may or may not be visible to the naked eye. This is one of the reasons why a truly flawless diamond is so rare.
That doesn’t mean you can’t find a diamond that’s nearly flawless. To ensure the brilliance and fire that makes diamonds so enchanting, we offer “SI1” clarity grades or higher. Anything lower means those clarity characteristics may be visible to the naked eye, diffusing the light as it passes through the stone.
Clarity is one of the most fundamental features to consider when choosing a diamond. That’s why our diamond buyer personally inspects every single diamond to ensure there aren’t any visible clarity characteristics. Every one of our diamonds is clean to the naked eye, achieving the greatest light performance and brightest sparkle.
Our consultants are available to help you to better understand the importance of clarity in a diamond and how to choose a suitable clarity for your engagement ring.
