White gold engagement rings
White gold engagement rings offer a contemporary look and are a desirable choice due to their reasonable price point. Diamonds take centre stage when set in white gold be it an ornate or simple design. Naturally, white gold isn’t actually white at all, but a light grey colour. This precious metal is often blended with yellow gold, silver, zinc, nickel and palladium, making 18 karat white gold a durable metal, perfect for everyday wear.
New white gold engagement rings are coated with rhodium, which is similar to platinum and shares many of the same properties including its white hue. The natural colour of white gold is light grey so the rhodium enhances the white.
