Ashley Benson’s Solitaire Engagement Ring: A Testament to Timeless Style

Love has struck again for one of our favourite stars, and this time it shines upon the talented actress Ashley Benson, who has announced the news of her engagement to Brandon Davis. Known for her breakout role in popular teen drama, Pretty Little Liars, over a decade ago, Benson and Davis made their relationship public earlier this year.

While details of the proposal are yet to be revealed, the ring is in plain sight. David proposed with a striking oval diamond solitaire engagement ring and called her the ‘love of my life’ in a post on his Instagram story while Ashley wrote: ‘My best frienddddd I love you’ in response.

We estimate the oval diamond to be around 10cts based on the dimensions on her finger. It’s a beautifully proportioned diamond with a length-width ratio of around 1:1.45 with the mesmerising stone set on a 2 – 2.5mm wide rounded yellow gold band. Based on the assumption that the diamond has high quality characteristics (and we’d be fair to given Davis is a billionaire!), we’d estimate the ring to have cost anywhere in the region of around £1,000,000.

Despite seeing trends of narrower band widths, Ashley’s slightly thicker band is required in this instance to support the weight of that huge diamond. Regardless of their width, rounded profile bands are usually incredibly comfortable to wear–especially on a ring that’s made to be worn and admired everyday.

Designs similar to Ashley's engagement ring

If you love Ashley’s ring design and you’re not quite a billionaire (just yet!) then take a look at our Grace oval diamond yellow gold solitaire engagement ring. This design is a classic and elegantly showcases its centre diamond held in delicate claws. Featuring a 2mm wide court band ensures a streamlined look while also being strong enough to last a lifetime.

And of course, this isn’t the first celebrity engagement ring we’ve seen that looks like this. The oval diamond on yellow gold band trend has been at the forefront of A-list engagements over the past couple of years with Hailey Bieber and Vanessa Hudgens’ engagement ring both featuring incredibly similar design elements.

Oval cut engagement rings

Oval cut diamonds are a popular and elegant choice for engagement rings. This modified brilliant cut diamond combines the brilliance of a round cut with the elongated shape of an oval, resulting in a captivating and elongating effect on the finger.

One of the key features of oval cut diamonds is their versatility. The elongated shape creates an illusion of length, making the fingers appear more elongated and elegant. This makes oval cut diamonds a flattering choice for a variety of hand shapes and finger sizes.

Oval cut diamonds can be set in a variety of engagement ring settings, from solitaires to halos to vintage-inspired designs. Their elongated shape allows for creative and unique setting options, making them a versatile choice for different engagement ring styles.

Overall, oval cut diamonds offer a blend of timeless elegance, versatility, and impressive sparkle. Their elongated shape and exceptional brilliance make them a sought-after choice for those seeking a sophisticated and eye-catching diamond.

Halodouble halo, and hidden halo settings can enhance the beauty of an oval diamond engagement ring. A traditional halo setting provides a classic and refined look, while a double halo adds extra drama and glamour. A hidden halo, placed beneath the centre stone, offers a subtle touch of sparkle and adds dimension to the overall design.
