Returns Policy

We offer a 30 day returns, no questions asked policy. At Taylor & Hart we stand behind the quality of our products and offer customers the opportunity to return, exchange or cancel purchases made within 30 days of their order being delivered or to exchange their product within 90 days of their order being delivered subject to a handling fee. We offer you this policy to allow enough time to consider your purchase as well as to give you the peace of mind that your choice of product meets your requirements and expectations.

Should you decide to return your item within 30 days we will issue you a full refund, provided:

  • It is returned no later than 30 days after the delivery date
  • It is in its unworn and in the original condition without any damage
  • It is returned with all accompanying documents and materials

The cancellation period runs separately for each item delivered. While we do offer all clients free shipping when delivering your order, we kindly ask you to cover the shipping charge when returning or exchanging a product.

To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us of your decision to cancel your order by making a clear statement (e.g. by calling our office or sending an email) prior to the period expiring. The easiest way to do this is to contact our Customer Services team.

All of our jewelry is made to order and in the majority of cases is covered by this returns policy. For some orders, your design consultant may inform you, prior to placing your order, that your item is not returnable and the return of items with diamonds or gemstones over the value of $20,000 is subject to approval.

We are required to inform you that under The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have a legal right to cancel the contract between you and us within 14 days of delivery without giving a reason unless the product is a custom order/ bespoke order.

Making an exchange

Should you decide to exchange your ring within 90 days we will work with you on a new design through our original design process and create your new ring subject to the following terms:

  • It is returned no later than 90 days after the delivery date
  • It is in its unworn and original condition without any damage
  • It is with all accompanying documents and materials
  • The original center stone is used in the new design
  • A handling fee of $450 plus the difference in value between the two products (a refund will be made if the value is lower)

Should you wish to upgrade or exchange your center stone too, please contact your consultant for a quote.

The Return Process

Upon receiving your returned item in its original condition, the diamond will be weighed and checked against its corresponding grading certificate and our quality assurance experts will evaluate the jewelry piece. If you are returning the products to us because they are faulty, we will refund the price of the purchase in full and any applicable delivery charges. Returns for any other reason may have any diminished value due to damage to the product deducted from the refunded amount.

As a consumer, you have legal rights in relation to products that are faulty or not as described. These legal rights are not affected by the returns policy or the terms and conditions of sale.

Your refund will then be processed in the following 4 to 5 days and be paid using the original method of payment. This may take up to 14 days from receipt of the jewellery, depending on your location/payment method.

How to Prepare a Return

The following three-step process must be adhered to in order to successfully return an item to Taylor & Hart and receive a refund:

  • Initiate your return: Call or email a customer service representative ( stating you would like to make a return as well as providing your order reference number. They will instruct you on an appropriate shipping address.
  • Packaging your return: Please include all the original packaging and additional materials – make sure you include your diamond grading certificate as replacing this certificate is costly and we therefore charge customers a $250 fee should a replacement be necessary. For security reasons, avoid writing, “diamonds” or Taylor & Hart anywhere on the outside of the box.
  • Insuring and Shipping Your Package: Depending on the value of your order (printed on your invoice), choose one of the following ‘insurance procedures’ to ensure the return is insured prior to our receiving the item:In all cases request both a tracking number and receipt and forward these to your point of contact at Taylor & Hart.
    • Items with value less than £2,500/$4,000 (or equivalent in your currency)
      • Orders coming from the UK should be returned with Royal Mail using the option with insurance included.
      • Orders coming from outside UK should be returned with FedEx, ensuring that the option to insure the item is selected.
    • Items with value over £2,500/$4,000
      • Orders coming from outside UK should be returned with FedEx, ensuring that the option to insure the item is selected.

Ship your return using the providers above and alternative arrangements will be required for insurance. If you would like to insure your return, please contact us and we will organise the insurance on your behalf and deduct this from the final refund amount.

If the return instructions are not followed, Taylor & Hart will not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to returned shipments.
