Behind The Design: Adam & Emma

Like many couples, Adam and Emma met at work. They’re both solicitors, and when Adam moved firms, he decided it was finally time to make his move. He had planned to propose on a trip to Porto, but COVID-19 put a stop to those plans so he waited until they could go back to Wales, where Emma is from. They went on a scenic coastal walk, and Adam proposed in Welsh while looking out over the sea. They celebrated in style with champagne on the beach with conversations of their future.

Adam designed Emma’s engagement ring himself and his design consultant, Emily, fondly looks back on the design process.

Adam spoke about Emma in such a lovely way. He knew he wanted to incorporate some hidden organic details that symbolised Wales.

The vintage-inspired design features a marquise shaped centre diamond flanked with two light blue sapphire baguettes, inspired by Emma’s striking blue eyes. A timeless trilogy style, Adam was lead by Emma’s personal style which leans more towards the classic elements of the vintage aesthetic.

The through the finger view of the ring reveals a detailed daffodil engraved on its basket–a nod to Wales that serves as a hidden treasured detail between the two. And for the final personal touch, Emma’s birthday is in February so he thoughtfully chose an Amethyst, her birthstone, to be set on the inside of the band.

The selection of signature stone inside the band is a subtle yet highly personal way to make a design your own. Reflective of Emma’s personality, the engagement ring is a reminder of Adam’s love for her and will no doubt be a cherished heirloom for generations to come.

In 2022, the couple got married in the grounds of Emma’s parents’ house. It was a beautiful day, and the ring sparkled in the sunlight. Emma opted for an Iris wedding ring design, a sculptural half eternity channel set wedding band with princess cut diamonds, while Adam opted for an Emerson. The Emerson strikes a balance between honouring tradition while embracing something new with a domed matte finish and polished grooved edges in cool, bright platinum.

Emma and Adam are now happily married, and they’re excited to start their life together and we wish them all of the happiness in the world.
