For Tracy, the most special part of her engagement ring isn’t just how it looks, but the thought Barney put into every detail.
“Barney designed this ring with you guys,” she says. “He incorporated rubies, my birthstone, because he knows how much I love them.”
When Barney talks about the design process, he describes wanting something that felt both classic and personal.
Choosing the metal was just as intentional. “Tracy doesn’t like yellow gold and she wears white gold jewellery day to day,” he explains. “I wanted the ring to go with her other pieces, and platinum just felt like the best choice.”
Barney proposed on the first morning of their holiday in Nice, France. They started the day with a walk along the beach before heading up to the top of a chateau that overlooks the city. He had asked Tracy to wear a nice dress so they could take some photos with the view–something casual enough that she didn’t suspect anything.
At the top, after they’d taken a few pictures together, Barney got down on one knee. Tracy had no idea it was coming.
Two girls who happened to be sightseeing nearby saw the moment unfold. After Tracy said yes, they came over to congratulate them and let them know they’d captured photos and a video of the proposal. What could have been a moment between the two of them turned into something they now have documented to treasure thanks to complete strangers.
Together, Tracy and Barney hope to build a life filled with love, joy, and laughter. They both imagine travelling the world, creating memories in new places, and building a supportive and loving family.
