Floral engagement rings
Why choose a flower ring?
Symbolic of romance, beauty, and hope, flowers are an image of beauty that we return to again and again. Throughout history, artists and writers have used flowers to illustrate the limits of human emotion and creativity. In Greek mythology, the red anemone flower is linked to the death of Adonis. For ancient Egyptians, the lily was a symbol for the goddess of creation and fertility. Following this timeless tradition, our advice for anyone looking to design a floral engagement ring is to choose a flower that represents something special about you or your partner, and bring your favourite sentiments to life. A floral engagement ring is timeless, an everlasting celebration of nature.
Our collection of flower engagement rings offers a selection of rose gold, yellow gold, white gold and platinum rings that you can customize with your favorite shape of a diamond. A round brilliant cut diamond can be used as the center of a floral patterned ring, and fancy diamond shapes such as the marquise and pear diamond can be used to create petals and boughs of your favorite flower. We’re also excited to carry a range of wedding bands featuring floral motifs, often using tiny marquise or round diamonds to resemble leaves or petals.
How can I use diamonds in a floral ring?
To incorporate a floral motif or pattern into a diamond engagement ring, our designers look to rounded, organic shaped diamond cuts. Shapes such as round or oval diamonds can resemble the center of a flower, and shapes such as pear cuts or marquise diamonds can be used to resemble petals and different leaf shapes.
Diamond pavé can be used to decorate metal that’s been cast in the shape of a flower, creating inventive and unique cluster ring shapes.
Engraving, filigree, and milgrain can be added to accentuate the organic curves of a floral themed engagement ring. Mix diamonds with yellow gold or rose gold to give your ring a natural warmth. Rose gold is a particularly good metal to accentuate a floral patterned diamond ring.
How can I use sapphires in a floral ring?
Sapphire floral engagement rings have soared to popularity in the past few years thanks to the versatile color tones of this precious gemstone.
A sapphire doesn’t just come in blue, but in yellow, pink, purple, green, and virtually every shade in between. Teal has been a particularly popular sapphire color this past season, with the blue-green tone being one of our most in-demand colors.
Pastel sapphire tones such as light pink, purple, and blue are used quite often to create a flower engagement ring.
How can I use emeralds in a floral ring?
Emeralds are wonderful gemstones with unique characteristics that accentuate a floral themed ring.
With natural inclusions and a rich green color, emeralds are perfect for evoking nature’s beauty in your engagement ring.
Pair an emerald center gemstone with 18kt yellow gold to give the ring an earthy contrast between the deep green tones and the buttery lusciousness of yellow gold.
