The best things to do around our NYC showroom

Making memories throughout the design process

Take in the views on the Staten Island Ferry

Hailed as one of the greatest (and shortest) boat voyages in the world, taking a round trip on the Staten Island Ferry through the waters of the New York Harbour is one of the most authentically romantic experiences NYC has to offer.

This 5 mile, 25 minute (each way) trip departs just minutes from our showroom down at the Whitehall Ferry Terminal and offers skyline views and a charming ride by the Statue of Liberty. And the best part? The ferry is totally free—a little gift from NYC, with love.

A meal at Tribeca brunch institution, Bubby’s

Whether it’s brunch, lunch, dinner, or a simple slice of something sweet for dessert, Bubby’s is an upscale neighbourhood joint that never disappoints. This Tribeca brunch institution has been serving up American comfort food delicacies in Lower Manhattan for over 30 years and is beloved by locals.

We love Bubby’s not just for its unforgettable selection of pies, but for its commitment to celebrating the ethnic contributions and cultural abundance of American cuisines.

Catch the latest exhibition at The Drawing Center

Artistry is at the heart of what we do at Taylor & Hart, and nothing keeps our creative minds inspired like the thriving downtown art scene. Either being from NYC or having visited before, you’ve probably already hit up the Whitney or MoMA, so when you come down to the Freedom Tower for your consultation why not check out some of the lesser known galleries nearby?

The Drawing Center is an exhibition space that explores the medium of drawing, and we think a visit here is a brilliant place to get you inspired ahead of designing your ring—each of our designs begins with a sketch after all!

Dinner and drinks at Frenchette

With a dining room and Art Deco-inspired bar that feels like it was plucked fresh from the pages of Architectural Digest, downtown restaurant Frenchette knows how to serve up French bistro favorites with an NYC spin.

It also hosts a natural & biodynamic wine list that’s second to none in the city. We always recommend this stylish yet laid back dinner spot to our customers who want to make a date night out of their trip to the showroom. But don’t show up without a reservation or you might be left waiting.

When you consider how much emotion and love goes into the process of designing your forever ring, it only makes sense that you’d want to create lasting memories along the way. Your consultation should be as meaningful as possible, so why not make a day out of it and find some artistic inspiration along the way!

You may already have a clear idea of what you’re looking for, or you might be right at the beginning of the process. Whatever your needs, coming in for a consultation with a personal design consultant is a great way to have your questions answered and imagination inspired.
