Behind the Design: Annie & Harry

Annie & Harry

One of our Taylor & Hart couples, Annie and Harry, ventured up to Fife, Scotland in 2022 to tie the knot in style. The shimmering, moody romance of this northern wedding made for a once in a lifetime celebration, complete with bagpipes and plenty of tartan to honour their Scottish heritage.

She recently spoke with Love My Dress about the full wedding experience and how her husband Harry created her dream ring at Taylor & Hart.

Their ceremony—in a church in St. Andrew’s—was elegant yet warm, a feeling that was perfectly recreated in Annie’s engagement ring design. Harry chose contemporary oval diamonds in a trilogy setting. The side diamonds he chose were pear cut, giving the ring an elongated and poetic shape.

“Working with Harry was a testament to how the simplest touch can have a big impact on your design. Including an emerald hidden inside the band gives this ring a secret detail, something intimate that the couple can treasure together.”

— Maria, Head Designer

What is so special is that Harry chose to have an emerald, his birthstone, placed on the inside of the band.

— Annie

The care and attention that went into the custom design didn’t go unnoticed. ‘I was amazed with his thoughtfulness’, Annie said.

It goes to show that even the smallest details and personal touches, such as a custom gemstone set within a ring’s band, can make a lifelong impact on the sentimental value of an engagement ring.

Trilogy rings, like the one Harry chose for Annie, feature three gemstones of varying size. This design type is has always been a popular choice for those looking to impart a hearfelt meaning behind their ring as the three stones are said to represent the past, present, and future of a relationship.

Thanks to Annie and Harry for sharing their story, which can be read in full here.
