The Role
We are seeking a high performing Assistant Finance Manager to join the Taylor & Hart Finance Team and support the Head of Finance in managing the financial operations, reporting and forecasting processes within the business. Key responsibilities also include working with executives and managers on ad hoc business analysis projects. The role is based in one of our offices in London, UK or Sofia, Bulgaria.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who proactively builds partnerships with senior stakeholders within Taylor & Hart in order to gain a good overview of the business from the inside out and is eager to make a real difference to the company’s success.
We will provide internal training wherever possible to upskill candidates as well as support / provide time for completing their accounting qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing, processing and troubleshooting the financial transactions and reports
- Assistance with Bookkeeping, Financial Budgeting, Forecasting and Variance Analysis
- Assisting external bookkeepers in UK, USA and BG resolving queries on:
- Bank Reconciliations
- New Suppliers
- Review of accrual, prepayment and suspense postings
- Review Monthly VAT reconciliations
- Reconcile Quarterly C79 VAT Import certificates
- Import and reconciliation of sales and deferred income
- Processing customer refunds
- Manage UK payroll processes and work with 3rd party payroll provider
- Review and payment of employee expenses
- Payment and reconciliation of PAYE accounts
- Management of purchase ledger and supplier relationships
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with preparation of Management Accounts
- Work with Head of Finance to improve and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company
- Maintenance of key financial reports and spreadsheets
- Business partnering with senior executives to provide insightful information and analysis to aid in long-term and short-term decision making
- Working with business managers to provide analytical support via data models and business intelligence tools
- Stay up to date with technological advances in accounting and data management software to be used for financial and reporting purposes
Ideal Candidate
- Degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field
- ACA (or equivalent) Part-qualified or fully qualified
- 2-3 years of experience in a finance role preferred
- Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
- Desire to work in a dynamic environment with wide ranging responsibilities
- Strong understanding of business principles and practices

The Role

Taylor & Hart is about its customers and their stories. The Customer Care Team ensures that all T&H’s existing and prospective customers have an amazing journey with the brand. They provide quick, friendly, confident and professional responses to enquiries and proactively facilitate the customer experience around the design and purchase journey. Key Responsibilities

The Role

The Diamond & Gemstone Specialist is a brand ambassador, understands the company’s core values and business model and is able to convey those to our customers, leaving them understanding what Taylor & Hart stands for. Through highly efficient, responsive and proactive communication with prospective customers, the successful candidate will understand and qualify the needs of the lead. Key Responsibilities
- Provide customers with the knowledge they need to choose a great diamond/gemstone and ring and enable them to make an informed purchase

- Close sales of base and low-modification rings, where design capability is not the main attribute needed to complete the sale

- Provide coverage for any inbound communication that comes through the Live Chat function on the Taylor & Hart site as well as Whatsapp and Messenger
